Topic:
linux;
I am using centos apache server with bios,
it could not boot before and hanged at Probing edd=off
after change to/etc/default/grub, let grub menu wait 60 seconds
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu
GRUB_TIMEOUT=60
GRUB_RECORDFAIL_TIMEOUT=60
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=true
at grub menu , hit e key
select option 0 at grub menu then hit e
addedd=off quiet rd.break rhgb quiet & change ttyS0 to tty0
hit-e again, it can reboot again
But I want to fix it for permement, now I need to grub menu everytime I need reboot, otherwise auto-reboot not working at all
Please advise

500 points Excellent
if it is not disk issue, remve edd=off
0-sudo grubby --update-kernel=ALL --args="edd=off quiet rd.break rhgb quiet"
and just changed to ttyS0 to tty0 for centos case
1-sudo grubby --update-kernel=ALL --args="console=tty0,115200n8"
2-sudo grubby --info=DEFAULT
u can see the update result, go to /boot/loader/entries, the update in conf file
After reboot, if it go emergency mode, go to resuce mode
sudo mkdir -p /mnt
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
mount -o bind /dev /mnt/dev
mount -o bind /proc /mnt/proc
mount -o bind /sys /mnt/sys
chroot /mnt
edit /etc/fstab, add nofail , around defaults,nofail 0 0
dracut --force
reboot
if still not working
set correct image for grub boot
sudo vi /etc/default/grub
GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
sudo grub2-set-default 0 #supposed to first one 0,
sudo grub2-editenv list #see result
sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg #regenerate congfig file
exit #back to resuce mode
reboot...
